Frequently asked questions:

Q: Do I have to be Norwegian to join The Luren Singers?

A: Not if you love to sing. But, it helps to get along well with Norwegians, and to know a few Ole and Lena jokes.

Q: Does it cost a lot to have The Luren Singers perform at our event?

A: No. We love to sing! The Luren Singing Society is of the nature of a ministry. Usually we just sing for our supper. Unless our appearance is sponsored, we usually collect a free-will offering during intermission that goes 100% to local charities such as food banks, free clinics, or missionary projects. If your event is a long way from Decorah, we may ask for a contribution to the cost of our bus.

Q: How does The Luren Singing Society support itself?

A: Luren members pay annual dues; we pay much of our own transportation and housing; we run the largest food stand at the annual Winneshiek County Fair; we receive contributions for Luren Singers CDs; and, we accept tax-deductible donations from benefactors who appreciate what we do, and who want to support and perpetuate our long tradition of spreading joy.

Q: How can we schedule The Luren Singers for our event?

A: See our engagements page for the person to contact. If you want to order CDs, see our Albums page. If you have general questions, send your inquiry to Info@LurenSingers.com
