Notices for Luren members
Our next regular practice will be at Decorah High School music room, Monday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Berg 50th Anniversary will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Saturday, Sept. 4 with an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. We have been asked to sing at 2:00 p.m., and so we should be there by 1:30 p.m. in church attire. Bernie will have the music for "A Gift of Love". We also will sing "Kjaerringa mae Staven".
Fair 2010 Notes: Special thank-yous to Ken Larson and Paul Estrem for their exception planning and long hours of work to make our Fair Stand another success this year. Everyone who contributed labor, dollars, pies, and smiles deserves thanks for supporting the mission of The Luren Singers.

Sangerfest Notes: We thank our friends at the Grieg Chorus for all their hard work, planning, and excellent execution to have made Sangerfest 2010 in Madison wonderfully memorable!

Our final rehearsal before Sangerfest was bittersweet because it was the last for Roger Morris who will be moving to Madison after singing with The Luren Singers for 28 years. Many members gave tribute to Roger's involvement with Luren and his personal effect on them. After rehearsal, Gail Judisch served us a memorial cake and coffee at the Dug Road Inn. We will miss Roger and also all the encouragement, support, and help Nancy has given to Luren. We wish them God's best in Wisconsin.

Concerning Norway, decision was made by members to cancel the 2011 Norway tour in order to move it further into the future to allow more time for planning, for fund raising, and hopefully for strengthening of the American dollar vs. the Norwegian krone.
